"Faith: The Empty Hand"

Faith is not a work we perform but a gift we receive. Like a beggar extending an empty hand, we come to God with nothing to offer and everything to gain. The conflict in Acts 15 erupted because some believed faith needed supplementing—that Jesus plus something else equaled salvation. But the apostles stood firm: salvation comes through grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. You cannot earn what has already been purchased. You cannot add to what is already complete. Faith simply receives what God offers. If you've been exhausting yourself trying to prove your worthiness, stop. Open your empty hands. God fills what we cannot, forgives what we've done, and accepts us fully in Christ. That's the scandalous beauty of grace.
