"The Church Lifts Burdens
Reading: Acts 15:22-35; Galatians 6:1-5
Imagine carrying a backpack stuffed with rocks labeled "not enough," "try harder," and "prove yourself." Now imagine someone gently removing those rocks one by one, saying, "This wasn't meant for you to carry." That's what the Jerusalem church did for the Gentile believers. They removed unnecessary burdens and offered encouragement instead of condemnation. The church exists not to pile on guilt but to lift it off. When the Gentiles heard the apostles' letter, they "rejoiced because of its encouragement." True Christian community points us back to grace, reminds us of what Christ has done, and frees us from weights God never intended. If you're weary, find a church family that lifts burdens rather than adds them. And be that kind of believer for others—one who encourages, clarifies truth, and protects freedom in Christ.
