Guidelines for Photographers and Videographers

Purpose:

To maintain a respectful and appropriate atmosphere during wedding ceremonies hosted at First Baptist Church Byram (FBC Byram), this policy outlines the expectations for photographers and videographers participating in wedding ceremonies and receptions held on church premises.

Photographers

  1. The photographer is to contact the church office at least ONE WEEK before the wedding.
  2. The photographer is not allowed to walk around visible to the congregation during the service after the bride walks down the aisle.
  3. NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHS will be taken during the ceremony. The ceremony begins when the mothers are seated. One flash picture may be taken of the bride starting down the aisle. One flash picture may be taken of the bride and groom from the back of the Worship Center as they approach the end of the aisle during recessional.
  4. Timed exposures without flash are permissible from the rear of the Worship Center during the ceremony. An unlimited number of photos may be taken during the ceremony with a silent digital camera, as long as the photographer remains in the back of the worship center.
  5. Pictures may be taken before and after the ceremony and during the reception.
  6. All formal pictures taken before the ceremony must be completed one hour prior to the wedding.
  7. Brides are responsible for seeing that neither family nor friends take pictures during the ceremony.
  8. For worship center pictures, lighting provided will be house lights. This light is adequate for your needs.

Videographers

  1. The video camera operator must contact the church office one week before the wedding.
  2. Videographers are not allowed to walk around visible to the congregation during the service after the bride walks down the aisle.
  3. Video cameras may be used in the worship center. One stationary camera may be hidden in greenery but not visible to the congregation. Other cameras must be stationary and placed at the designated locations.
  4. If the video camera operator needs a direct feed to the worship center sound system, the sound technician must be notified one (1) week prior to the wedding.
